I have moved my blog.  Check it out loveisinthehair.blogspot.com.

I have been in the mood to cut my hair all off.  I do this once in a while.  Especially when I do fun short haircuts on people at work.  I have been growing out my "Posh Spice Bob" for a while now and it is almost to my shoulders.  I know if I cut it I will love it for a few months and then miss my long hair again.  What do you think? Long or short?  I like this one:

Feeling Good.

I have been in a good mood today.  Maybe it's because I got my roots did, that always make me feel better.  There is nothing worse than walking around with a black hole on your head!

I have cooked every night this week so far, and that is a huge accomplishment for me.  Normally I would be tired when I get off and just talk Gary in to going out to eat.  Not this week.  I made an effort to plan out the week's menu so I would have everything I need to cook dinner every night.  I hope this becomes a habit for us.

For the past 7 weeks I have been participating in our church's women's Bible study.  The study is by Beth Moore and it is on the book of Esther.  It has been one of the most insightful studies I have ever gone through.  God is showing me something new every day.  The book of Esther would make a great movie, if you have never read it you should.  Today's lesson talked about being a perfectionist.  This is something I definitely struggle with.  Something she said really clicked with me.  Maybe you will gain something from it too.

"To live for the greatness of God is to live the great life.  What if we awakened to what a dream-killer perfectionism is? To how pitifully small and unworthy a goal personal greatness is? We were meant for so much more.  In effect Christ says, 'I'm already great enough for both of us,' relieving the willing of their woeful burden. 'Just follow me.'"

I don't really want to miss a day writing on here, but days like today make it hard.  Today wasn't a bad day, just one of those days where not a lot worth reporting goes on.

I was in fact very sore from yoga, so I guess it was worth the $12.  I am on this new kick where I try to drink 64 oz of water every day.  I went all day with out a diet coke, that's very note-worthy...

Mar. 2nd, 2009

This morning Kate and  I went to a Redken color class, we learned about all the Redken color lines.  I am excited to start trying some of their color this week.  I think Wed. we are gonna experiment on each other.

After the class, I went over to White House Black Market to talk with Brooke about our upcoming event on Sunday. The White House Black Market in Little Rock is going to do a spring makeover drop-in Sunday from 2-4pm.  They will talk about the spring fashion, MAC will be there to go over spring make-up tips and I will be going over spring hair ideas.  We will also be drawing for a free haircut, so if you're around Sunday drop by. I am excited about working with all these great girls on this fun event!

I did some shopping at the mall.  A little retail therapy, does me good!  You know what else did me good today? Yoga.  Tonight me, Meghan and my mom went to a beginning yoga class.  It was a lot of fun, but it kicked my butt.  I don't know if I will be able to walk tomorrow... seriously.

So, the bachelor was yet again a disappointment.  I loved Melissa and when he picked her I was thrilled.  But, then he changed his mind... surprise, surprise.  I don't know why I even bother watching, they never work out.  Oh well, it's good entertainment I guess.

Back to work tomorrow.  Tuesdays are my Mondays, hard to get back going after being off for two days, but so goes life.

lazy sunday.

I have been sneezy and itchy for over a month now and it is driving me crazy! No meds seem to be doing the trick for me either. I guess I am gonna have to make a doctor's appointment tomorrow. No fun.

Anyway on a lighter note, today was my grandpa's birthday, so we went to the grand-rents for lunch and cake after church today.  It was nice to just munch on snack foods and hang with the family most of the afternoon.  When we came home, I decided to take a quick "20 minute power nap."  We all know how that goes, 20 minutes easily turned in to 2 hours. Oh well, Sunday is the day of rest, right?

Tonight a recovered my patio chairs.  They turned out super cute. I think I might paint the frames lime green... let me know what you think.

I am about to unload our warm clean sheets out of the dryer.  Don't you just love the feeling of clean sheets?  I do, the perfect ending to another lazy Sunday!

Snowy Saturday.

Today we finally got some snow.  I don't know if much will stick, but it is coming down outside my window as I write.

I had a busy day at work and that's the way I like it.  When it is busy the day flies by.  After work Gary and I went on a mission to find me snow boots for when we go skiing next month.  However, we were to late.  We searched all over both sides of the Arkansas river, but no snow boots could be found.  I have two pair of Uggs, but I'm afraid all the snow will ruin them (not to mention the traction on them is not ideal for slick ground).  I guess, I may have to break down and buy some that cost more that $30.  Oh well, that's what I get for waiting until the last minute.

Tonight we went and saw High School Musical with the rents at good ole NLRHS.  The kids did a great job.  Made me think of the good old days working light crew high up on the catwalk.  I was never on the stage, always behind it.   I couldn't help but wondering what kind of funny things were being said over the headsets between crews while we were watching the show.  That was always the fun part, making jokes about what was going on and back stage over the headsets while the audience watched quietly below us.  Good memories, but I am glad the high school stage is behind me.  That is one stage, I don't care to revisit.

Hope you enjoyed the beauty of the falling snow today and keep warm and toasty tonight!

Today was rainy, but I kinda like rainy days, they are slow and easy.  Today wasn't a very eventful day, but it was relaxing.  I got to have lunch with Gary, so that was a nice break in the work day.  Then tonight we picked up a pizza and watched "Legends of the Fall."  It was a good movie, but left me feeling really sad.  I do better with romance comedy.  It was nice to just have a Friday night at home on the couch for a change.  I am looking forward to finishing up the work week tomorrow, this week has been long.  Ready for some more down time and a possible crafternoon with Meghan. Details to come...

So, I started this whole blog thing last summer and never really got in to it.  However, Meghan and Andrew's blog has inspired me to try and post every day for the rest of the year.  This way our out of state family can see what we are up to and we can look back and remember this year day by day.  I can only hope mine will be as interesting as the Sever's.

Today was pretty uneventful. Slow day at the salon.  The warm weather had me wishing I was out and about.  Lately I have just had the urge to get in the car and just drive, with the windows down and and the music up, until I get tired of driving.  I have been missing college, when life was so simple and everyone was all in one small place together.  After 2 years, I think the "real world" is finally starting to hit me.  Don't get me wrong, I have much to be thankful for. This is a wonderful stage of life, but sometimes I wish I could relive an old stage, you know?

I have also been in the mood to change the style of a couple of rooms in our house.  Something about changing the decor of our home once in a while makes me feel so good.  It is a stress reliever, makes things feel fresh and new.  I bought some new curtains for our office and some fabric to make new ones for our living room as well.  You can check out the fun new office window dressings and let me know what you think.  The living room is a work in progress, I'll keep you posted.

Not much going on tonight. We are going to cook dinner and watch American Idol, keeping our fingers crossed Kris Allen made it to the top 12.  Then maybe a trip to the gym.  I am kind of a Debbie Downer today, sorry.

Life is short.

The rents are back from Brazil.  I'm glad to have them back.  We went to the reflection service tonight at church. God did some amazing things through their group.  I am glad they were able to be used to plant seeds in the hearts of people in Brazil.

I am really wanting to go to Europe within the next year.  The other night I got online to price tours and pick the things I would want to see.  It got me excited, but it is expensive!  I hope we will be able to set aside enough money to go as soon as possible.  I have a fear of flying and I want to go soon so I don't chicken out later. I don't want my fears to keep me from going the places I want to see.

I've been reading the Twilight books. I'm almost done with the second one and I am HOOKED!  I can't wait until the movie comes out in December.  The story is about a girl who falls in love with a vampire.  Sounds crazy, I know, but it is addictive!

Speaking of movies...  I saw the new Batman movie at the IMAX the other night. The IMAX is awesome! It was my first time to see a "real" movie on an IMAX.  The only things I have ever seen on IMAX were several educational short films.  So this was a fun, new experience for me.  The movie was great.  I fell asleep during the last one, but this one was a million times better! Heath Ledger did a great job as the Joker. He was a great talent, and it made me sad to think of how young he was and how much he could have gone on to do.  Just another reminder that life is short.  All the more reason for me to save and go to Europe while I'm young, right?
